P.S. I Love You

Time: 9:04 p.m.

Location: Sitting outside the mall theaters, theater #11

Activity: Unexpected opportunity for quality people watching

Twist: Instead of simply "people watching" my partner in crime (p.i.c) continues to notice a pattern shared between many people. After numerous "I can't believe that she is wearing her jeans TUCKED INTO her boots" comments, I decided to count the number of girls who were risking this fashion statement.

"Oh. Look, a movie just let out..." leaning forward, looking down the hallway.

"Too bad its not ours."

"Hey there is another girl doing the boot thing."

"Lets count them. 1, 2, 3....4...oh, *discreetly points and whispers...5!"

"You are better at this than I am."

*nods head in agreement*

"Especially since #5 was a guy in construction boots!"

"Hey our theater is empty finally!!" P.I.C. rushes into the side door, and RUNS for HER seats.

Now as I was watching our theater empty, I begin to notice the high number of theater goers whose eyes were wet from recent...tears?? Um, what have I gotten myself into? What kind of movie is this?

(except of course for Harry Potter 5...of course)

countdown to the LOST season 4 premiere...27 hours.

Tribute

There are moments in life that you remember where you were and exactly what you were doing when you heard the "news". Right on Bone Junior?

Tanya Harding Olympics performance (sans Nancy Kerrigan)?

Night. Moving from our house in Kirkland to our current one in Bothell. Boxes upon boxes are still packed- but our television is hooked up and surrounded by lawn furniture.

O.J. Simpson verdict?

8th grade biology class, sitting on the left side of the room, lights are off, and our television is tuned in to this "courtroom drama".

Princess Di?
"Early in the morning of August 31st, 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales, was killed in an automobile accident in Paris. Her boyfriend, Dodi Al Fayed, and her chauffeur also died in the horrendous crash. Speculation is that some members of the paparazzi were chasing the car when it went out of control in a tunnel near the Eiffel Tower. Diana was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved from massive internal injuries. She was only 36 years old."

Early afternoon; sitting in the basement of my parents house; sun was shining outside and the news interupted normal programming to say that Princess Di had been rushed to the hospital following a mad dash away from paparazzi.

President Gordon B. Hinckley..?

Evening, friend's basement ~ yesterday.

What an incredible man.

*pause for a moment of silence* A prophet, who many members of the church today know as the only prophet; passed away yesterday around 7 pm. I am saddened that he has passed on, but also reflect back on what he had accomplished in his 97 years. President Hinckley was the prophet of my youth. I felt such a connection everytime I was priviledged to hear him speak. I will always remember his humor! My mother remembers that he is the first prophet and apostle that she can really remember to show his emotions at the pulpit. President Hinckley was meant to open up to the world- both in the numerous temples that came into being during his time, but also in speaking with Larry King and other notable "public figures". He will be missed, and my prayers are with the men and man who will fill the shoes of such a Prophet of God.

Having a relaxing year so far?

Wish I were. It began with a bang. Or something like that. I have been going into work 2 hours earlier than usual to get ready prepared for the day, week, new units...oh, and parent-teacher conferences! Let me tell you it is no picnic to get ready for them, but once I am there I enjoy talking with the parents of my kiddos. Even if it means a 13 hour workday ... sigh. At least it is done and I've helped myself recover with some retail therapy.

Wish it were so simple. Do you ever wish you could have the life that you provide for your pets? Nap, play, eat seafood anytime you want, nap, nap, and nap some more.
